Nicaela Chinnaswamy

Nicaela Chinnaswamy grew up in Wrentham before graduating from Boston College with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Marketing.

Currently, she works as an urban business initiatives associate for Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), a nonprofit in Roxbury. Nicaela’s primary focus is working with small businesses in inner cities to create more jobs and economic opportunities in the community. She has been and homeowner in Mission Hill for three year and enjoys walking from her home to work in Roxbury every day. Prior to ICIC, Nicaela worked on statewide, congressional, and local political campaigns in Massachusetts where she implemented and analyzed polling data to direct campaign staff and resources to strategic regions in the district. She has worked to elect candidates in all levels of government in Massachusetts. Before politics, Nicaea worked for the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), the largest single-event athletic fundraiser in the world. At the PMC, Nicaela was responsible for developing the annual Winter Cycle program, operations for the summer ride, and IT aspects of the organization. She continues to volunteer for the Pan-Mass Challenge as well as the Wonderfund, which helps foster families across Massachusetts. In her spare time, Nicaela can be found cheering on the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox, running on the Emerald necklace, or knocking on doors and making phone calls for candidates across Massachusetts.
